Vasilis Loizides is a New York/Cyprus based fashion designer inviting us to share his stranger-than-fiction outlook on the world around us. After having served in the Cypriot military, Vasilis moved to New York to study Fashion Design at Parsons, The New School for Design. Outside of the Classroom, Vasilis spent his free time working for various designers including Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Nicola Formichetti.
In September 2017, he launched his namesake brand which has received recognition from industry leaders including publications and media outlets such as Vogue Runway, Another Man, Dazed & Confused, i-D, and Document Journal, to name a few.
From a professional perspective, the collection has strengthened and contextualized his design practice through the experience with vendor relationships, design production, public relations, and brand presence through social media and New York Fashion Week. His collections confront issues connected to gender performance, minority representation, and the human experience at large. Set against a unique allegorical narrative, each collection celebrates the twisted, mysterious, and often surreal truth that exists between expectations and reality.
